As 2024 is only hours away from ending, another year has passed for my bespoke bridal accessory business and this year’s adventures, I’m reflecting on the year, feeling grateful, and dreaming about what good things 2025 will bring. Enjoy the photos + story bits💖
#1 Millinery Class
Going to millinery class is like taking a personal vacation. It’s three days of learning new skills, new design inspiration, working with the finest fabrics and embellishments, exploring after class, delicious food, and, most of all, having fun with the talented and fun Karen Morris.

#4 Adventure
One of my adventures this year was with my family. Our family planners scoped out Indiana Dunes National Park. Within the park are a group of historic homes, “Century of Progress Homes – 1933 -34 World Fair”. The residence in the photo cost $15,000 to build. The homes were moved from Chicago to their current location by barge. Private individuals are leasing and maintaining these National Historic Registry homes through private funding. I would live in “The Florida Tropical House” if I ever moved from scenic Northeast Iowa.
#5 Instagram Post
This post combines my love for flowers, colors and hats, and it turned out to be the favorite post on my Instagram in 2024. Jen @BloomFlowerFarm designed this fabulous bouquet and also, graciously took the photo.

#9 New Boutique Design
I had a great time redesigning the Boutique in early 2024. Marv (labor) and Curt (the design) were essential to this project, and there were nods of approval for the new rug and other decor from Kelli. What a great team I have! I love being in this redesigned space and receiving all the positive reviews from Bridal customers.
#10 Favorite Sidekicks
2024 brought many gatherings and adventures. Somehow our schedules aligned to have our first family vacation with our children as adults. State and National Parks are the vibe for all of us, lucky aren’t we? I rediscovered my love for beaches and we found the best beach at Indiana Dunes National Park – West Beach. The kids hiked, and Marv & I found a good spot on the beach. A kind lady lent Nora a kite and Marv, having the right height (tall!) helped her fly it.
