It’s time again to pick the Top 10 favorite photos at Marti & Company. These photos give you an idea of what went on in my business and life in 2021.

First, I moved my work studio from upstairs to the previous bridal shop location downstairs. The upstairs work studio is slowly becoming a guest bedroom. With the pandemic still concerning and the need to limit gatherings, soirees at Marti & Company have been on hold. I miss these gatherings and hope I can offer them in late 2022.

So grateful to all of you for your small business support, my customers & readers, and new collaborations with Morgan (The Dress By Morgan Lynn), JoEllen (Country Garden & Gifts), and Jenny (JNByrnes Photography). 2022 will bring new designs, millinery classes, an updated website, and love for everything wedding!

We had so much fun at The Dress by Morgan Lynn  Bridal Shop in June.  Two hours of pictures after pictures to capture the new line of bridal headbands and coordinating jewelry. 4. Millinery Class at Karen Morris Millinery

I spent 3 wonderful days at millinery school learning couture bridal techniques for making headbands, metallic flowers, bridal headpieces, and a lace bridal hat. Best of all, my kids gave me a gift certificate for Mother’s Day and my Birthday.

5. 1K Instagram Followers

In May, we celebrated 1000 followers on Instagram!!! So thankful to all of you for liking and commenting on my Instagram stories and posts. The time you take to comment & like makes a big difference in how the posts are ranked on Instagram. The more comments & likes the greater views that the post gets. This is an easy way to help small businesses keep going.

6. A New Family Member

 

We joyfully welcomed our first grandchild Nora in September. And we’re excited that she may carry on the red hair trait in the family both for our family and her Dad’s family. Of course, her uncle Curt is vying for his shade of red!

 

7. Favorite Quote

This quote received the most likes and comments on Instagram. It’s one of my personal favorites also.

8. 2022 Collection – Boho Chic

 

This is the front cover of the 2022 Mini Lookbook for Marti & Company. Morgan’s shop is the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot. The beautiful wedding gown is also from Morgan’s shop. Thanks to our model Becca Franzen.

9. He did it!!!

 

Marv went part-time on November 1 and we went on vacation. It had been a long 4 years without vacations and weekends off. We joined Kelli & Charbel & Nora for a Thanksgiving holiday in Tofte, MN.

10. Photoshoot at Hotel Winneshiek

I’ve wanted for the last 3 years to do a holiday photoshoot at the Hotel Winneshiek in Decorah. This year it all came together. The hotel graciously let us set up for a shoot at the end of November. The lobby was lush with Christmas decor and an awesome tree.
