Roses are often chosen for wedding bouquets because of their fragrance and sentiment. The popular colors pink and red are associated with true love, passion, and long-lasting love. They are likely one of the oldest flowers living today. Roses seem to have the most information on both their color and sentiment. For example, orange roses of intense hues symbolize passion and fascination since they recall the colors of a fire. On the other hand, orange roses of pale tones indicate charm, enthusiasm, and positive wishes.

Tulips, like roses, have sentiments attached to the various colors they’re available in. For example, purple tulips have connotations of royalty, while variegated shades are said to represent beautiful eyes, and blue tulips represent individuality and uniqueness.
With about 20,000 varieties of Dahlias, brides will have many choices of sizes and colors to include in their bouquets. The Florally Journal states, “When floriography (the language of flowers) was all the rage in the Victorian Era, dahlias were given as symbols of devotion, love, beauty, and dignity. These meanings still hold in modern times.” As with roses and tulips, dahlias’ different colors hold different meanings.
Here are some of the meanings, red dahlias are symbols of strength and power; pink dahlias and purple dahlias symbolize grace, kindness, and beauty; and yellow and orange dahlias are effortlessly cheerful, representing joy and excitement.
