Decorating for a destination wedding can be quite relaxing if you hired a planner, so you just send photos back and forth and confirm designs in person in the days leading up to your wedding. If you need not hire a planner, the design process from a design can spark lots of anxiety and stress. What are some ways you can craft your dream wedding decor from a distance? We compiled a couple of our ideas below.
1. Use lights!

Lights are easy to pack, easy to hang (for the most part), and potentially reusable after your wedding. Also, this is an item that your venue is likely to have in stock. We are big fans of adding lights into wedding design, especially at dinnertime, because it adds an intimacy and simplicity to what can be a chaotic day, wrapping up the day in a beautiful soft glow. Another way to achieve this look is by placing tall white candles all around the space.
2. Let the venue do the work

Planning a wedding venue from a distance, especially without a planner, is a TON of work. Lots of variables to coordinate, all while you are trying to “enjoy the process.” One solution is to keep it simple and let your venue do the work, either that’s a centuries-old chateau or the top of a mountain, your venue can absolutely be enough decoration for your ceremony or dinner.
3. Use Natural Items from your location

It’s a cheap option that requires zero packing. It does, however, require a bit of research into what is available to you and confirming availability (especially with fruit – always check that it’s in season!). Bonus, if the items are edible, you have snacks for days!
